"The Collapse" by Jeff Stanfield is a pretty good read for an TEOTWAWKI. Of course you have to overlook the numerous grammatical errors and somewhat predictable story line.
However it's still pretty enjoyable for an escapist read.

I give it 2.5 stars out of 4.

I am presently reading "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy ....it is a very dark novel about post apocalypse .....a different slant than usual. Not sure what I think of it yet but as I have been up for the past 30 hours I think I will reserve judgement.... ;)

I believe "the road" is being or has been made into a movie that will be released soon. Movies seldom live up to the books they come from but I'd still like to see the movie.

Yes...it would make for an interesting movie and if taken purely from the book it probably would not need a huge budget to make it work. To get the full effect it will require two VERY good actors to do justice to the Father and Son relationship there.

Found a link to some info about the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0898367/

Viggo Mortensen (the lord of the rings...) plays the father. Kodi Smit - McPhee plays the son. Charlize Theron and Robert Duval make some apperance in the movie too

Filmed in Pennsylvania in abandonded turnpike tunnels, an old amusement park and lake erie sand dunes.
