I know what "hotplate" signifies to ME - food.

So, is food it's purpose?

I would think so......given I once cooked a BBQ on an old truck fender I pulled off a rubbish tip I consider myself somewhat of a wiz around hot steel and meat... ;)

O.K. Let me wade in here.
I do a recipe for bread when I've run out of the store-bought variety. In fact, I have actually received compliments once or twice (before the ambulance arrived!)

Ingrediants:
1 cup flour
1 egg (if available. If not...skip)
a little milk, but water will do in a pinch
salt (to taste)
Herbs (I like that Italian blend myself)
a pinch of baking powder
Olive oil

Mix all that stuff together (dry with dry then ad the liquid) and beat til a stiff batter. Flour the outside to keep it from sticking while you form it into a flat loaf about an inch or two thick. Throw it on a grill, spreading a little olive oil on each side. Cook about four minutes each side.

You can also use a frying pan. Comes out much the same. Just tear off what you want. (Real man food!) Goes good with most anything...except sushi.
