FYI

Campbell's has just added the new black label "FULLY LOADED" Chunky line of soups which are not really soups but entrees with flavors like Beef Stroganoff ( see link below).

That foolish, football-oriented Campbell’s soup website is something only a jock could love, but I think those new “fully loaded” meals have some legitimate potential in a survival situation. In a time of food scarcity, a single can could be mixed with a larger quantity of relatively tasteless, bulky food (like rice or noodles) and become a satisfying, stomach-filling meal for several people at a relatively low cost.

I’ll likely pick up a few cans soon for a trial run, and see how well they fare.

Great idea.
I also will evaluate it with that in mind.

Well, I checked out the Campbell’s soups at the local Safeway today. A little surprised that the “Fully Loaded” soups were listed for $3.39 each, while the ordinary Campbell’s “Chunky Soups” were on sale for $1.25 each.

Gad, those “Fully Loaded” soups were almost triple the price! Unless one were really cramped for space, it seems that the regular Chunky Soups are a better buy (many of the standard Chunky Soup varieties are just ordinary, watery soup, but a few are thick, hearty dishes that would also go well if mixed with a larger quantity of blander food items).

So, today I instead bought a dozen cans of the “Chunky Soups” for my larder, and when the “Fully Loaded” soups to go on sale, I’ll pick up a few cans and try them out then. :D
