Crackers present many problems when it comes to use in one's survival food stores. Many hate the extra time, trouble, and expense associated with vacum packing or other special storage methods.

In the last two years Sky Flakes crackers have switched from Tins as packaging to plastic tubs and from bulk packing in the tins to individually wrapped packets in the afore mentioned plastic tubs for those crackers labeled " Export " variety.

These crackers are a great addition to one's survival food stocks.

Sky Flakes crackers come from M. Y. San Corp. in the Manila, Philippines.

Note the variety of products available from this company.

They are shipped either in tins packed in bulk or tins with individually wrapped packs containing 3 three section crackers each. The tins with the individual wrapped packs are labled "Export" while the bulk packed tins have no notation on them.

For best results in long term storage, I recommend the "Export" tins as they maintain flavor longer than the bulk pack tins.

I have eaten these crackers out of the bulk packed tins after four years in storage and even given them to Philippinos who have confirmed that the flavor, texture, and crispness remain unchanged.

The Sky Flakes are also available in smaller sized packs as well as the tins.

I suggest one purchase a small amount for taste testing.

As for a review of these crackers:

First one notices that the Sky Flakes Crackers are not filled with air pockets like saltines and they have a buttery taste to them. This is because they are NOT Soda type crackers.

Their texture is more robust and satisfying.

These crackers go with soup, chili, can fish, and any other food one would eat crackers or bread with. They are so good you will eat them alone.

Asian stores usually carry the both the tins and other sized packages and one should be prepared to buy at least a case of tins ( 12 tins per case ) then ask if a quantity discount is available.

Forget Ebay's price !

Asian markets are about as scarce as hen's teeth here in the Arizona high country :D but the "Sky Flakes" crackers sound promising.

Next trip to Kalifornia, maybe I'll take a side detour down to my old stompin' grounds of Little Saigon and take a dash through the 99 Ranch Market there. If those boys don't have it, nobody will!

You think Asian markets are scarce there.. HA!! :)

So, outside of an Asian market, where else can I get some?
