Let me clear-up any lingering mis-conceptions on the future of ANY and ALL Military Surplus Arms and Ammunition Restriction and Bans.
1) The UN is slowly but surely cutting off ALL export and sales of Military Surplus Munitions and Arms. Anyone remember South Africa and their cutting-off exports of ammunition?
In the former Chech Republic new condition never issued CZ-52 Carbines are being SCRAPPED not exported for sale on the commercial markets as they were in the 1990s.
So too are tons of 8mm Mauser, 7.62x25 Tokarev, 7.62x54R, as well as other munitions being SCRAPPED for their Metals value and to comply with the UN's upcoming Arms Trade Treaty on the control and elimination of the worldwide Proliferation of Small Arms and Ammunition.

2) Under Clinton ALL US surplus munitions stopped being placed for sale on the Domestic civilian or foreign civilian markets. ONLY De-Militarized components and remanufactured munitions are allowed to placed for sale.
3) US Government and Civilian ammunition makers are unable to meet the demand for ammunition necessary for training and fighting the current war on terror. The remains only ONE government arsenal producing ammunition in the US ( Lake City ). Currently, ALL components or Re-Manufactured ammunition which may come out of Lake City failed Military SPECIFICATIONS.
There is NO Surplus production coming-out of Lake City Nor will there be for the foreseeable future.
Once demand is reduced to below the maximum out put of Lake City such government stocks as deemed necessary to be maintained as a reserve will next be re-built and then and ONLY then will there be any surplus manufacturing capability at Lake City arsenal.
4) Should Hillary or most likely any other Demorat gain the White House, Regulations which Ban the Importation of so called Non-Sporting ammunition will no doubt be activated. They were drawn-up under Billy Bob Clinton's administration in the late 1990s. Among the types of amunition which would be prohibited would be any Commercial or Military Surplus BALL ammo in any Military calibre along with certain Law Enforcement calibre ammunition as well.
No doubt other restrictions would be included.
5) Currently, several foreign sources are being tapped for ammunition to supply the war effort.
a) Among these are PMC ( 50 cal. ) which had to stop manufacturing any other amunition in order to fill its US contract folr 50 cal ammo. In 2008 a new factory should start producing amunition for the US civilian domestic market.
b) Wolf and other foreign suppliers of 7.62x36 and 7.62x54R amunition have been contracted for significant ammounts of amunition thus resulting in limits on the availability from those sources.
c) Israel and other nations are suppling US military calibre small arms and cannon munitions currently.

Any questions that the UN and anti-gun NGOs are out to end access to small arms and ammunition?
