May as well write something here......it looks lonly and bored :p

Back in 1976 I was working for farmer John while in Rhodesia, my job was one of keeping an eye on the cattle at night time...

One night I heard some people whispering so I hid in the bushes.....a few minutes later this two old man (over 80) and a very young kid came walking by with two cows, one was a big healthy cow and one a very skinny and small cow.

When I came out of the bushes with my rifle they almost shited their pants and started to cry, they were stealing the two cows..... the young kid spoke Englisn and told me that those in their village were very hungry.

I let them keep the small cow and took the big cow back to the farm where I told the boss that someone was trying to steal this cow but that they got away, the cow was a priced cow and the boss gave me a reward.

This biggest kick that I got while in Rhodesia was when a bell boy called me "Bwana" (like in the Tarzan movies?)..... not many people knows that the word "Bwana" means nothing and that it was made for the movies.

I hoped that you enjoyed reading this, I have many more

That particular job was considered as low security so that all that I had was and old British 303 Jungle Carbine, did this job for only one month and from there became an aerial observer looking for terrs and flying between Chipinga and Umtali.....

We had an old single engine plane that the wings were alongated six feet per side and the body three feet....... we were able to glide almost invisible for long periods of time.
