The good old boys at the JPFO have available a ten-part instruction course on building - from scratch - a fully-functional Mauser-type receiver.
They are in .pdf format, and they look to be extremely well-written. And the price is right: the downloads are FREE. :D
While I’d probably never attempt such a project myself (it’s not exactly something one can build with just a Dremel tool . . .) it looks to be an e-book that’s still well worth archiving:
