Yours truly is truly blessed to be living in Arizona’s glorious high country, a place where junipers dot the landscape the antelope roam free.
So, I guess the choice for my “handle” was all too obvious. :D

My reference to 411 is based upon my efforts to locate information then share it with those who may benefit by having been made aware of said information.
ghostcat
10-06-2006, 08:50 PM
ghostcat was a nickname I was given when young. I used to be able move quietly through the brush and I have excellent night vison. The name was picked up by some Navajo friends who started calling me Mosi Ni Hlichi (spelling?) which they claimed translated to ghostcat. Knowing their sense of humor it probably really means devil cat!! LOL!!:D Since my back injury I probably should be called bull elephent because thats more like my current outdoor ability.:p :D
master blaster
10-06-2006, 08:53 PM
"Master Blaster" is a term of endearment and respect bestowed upon me by Soldiers in my platoon for having a creative flair for the employment of explosives in a number of situations and most notably for my successful completion of the Jump Master Training course taught by the advanced airborne school at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I guess you could say it was what I did! The monicker has long since stuck and is still used when we communicate.:D

Its what folks around here think my name is. I was out walking once and it started raining. An old guy stopped to give me a lift. First thing he said was "Hop in Jim". That was the first time I met him. I think the last name on the mail box gave me away. Jim

tactical razorback
10-07-2006, 06:34 PM
Fron the camp out at Gunner Pool. There was a lot of discussion on how the term "Tactical" is being (ab)used in the community. It's kind of like "English Mike" who used "extracontinental Thug".
Plus I have all the charm & elegance of a razorback (and according to some of my friends the same deoderant).
Works for me:D
SmokeEater2
10-07-2006, 07:41 PM
I met a guy from the Boston FD once Who said (with a great Boston accent) "OH,Youse a SmokeEater too huh?!" It stuck and I shortened the "TOO" to "2".
Besides,I got no frickin' imagination so it was the best I could do....

Well I practice a form of street medicine and have been known to bring people back from the dead. So I fight with death and race the reaper, so on and so forth. To most people the stuff we do is like magic and voodoo, so thus the name. Also, EMS is the new Doc in a box for the ghetto-welfare peoples!!!
I could tell you, but, ................................I forgot.
Godscarp
10-09-2006, 10:07 PM
I build altars and sanctuary furniture for Catholic churches. I was installing a side altar one morning and a priest walked up to me and asked....."so how is God's little carpenter this morning?" hence Godscarp.....lol

Goldenspurholderx2
10-23-2006, 06:36 PM
10 years in the Cavalry as a scout. Every time you go to combat you earn gold spurs. Before then if you earn them through a testing process, like the Excellence In Infantry, you get silver spurs. Gold spurs are the equivalent of the Infantry's Combat Infantry Badge but for Cavalrymen. My handle Goldenspurholderx2 is because I have done two one-year-long combat tours.

Im a Expat...spent so much time over seas while in the military I often felt like I was one!
most of my life in Plant Operations, and a contraction of a previous nick.
I have no imagination.
Ops
I used to think that a By-God-Colt-1911 was the finest pistol a man could own....then I bought one that didn't run...I bought 3 others over the years, trying hard to retain my affection for what I had been taught by my seniors was the epitome of defensive pistols, and they all had reliability issues as well.....
I carry Les Baer and Springfields now, but I've had the same screen name for the last 10 years, and I have limited imagnation.

Don"t have a clue actually. Was just crussin the net an stumbled onto somethin called Falfiles. They asked some real hard questions, like "user name"? Couldn't think of anything, so looked around to see where I was an that's the best I could do.

For me, every male in my family (except me dang it) has been named after Francis Marion so I decided to dig deeper why most of my family was named after him and figured it out in middle school and just kept diggin deeper into his operations. Sooo my name is from his nick name (Swamp Fox) and the month and day my bday is on.

Three guesses! It stands for my philosophy of life.
It is a well known fact that just about any problem can be fixed with an appropriate amount of explosives. So the application of the rifle has more finess in the same problem solving process. I do miss playing with detcord and C-4!

Nothing interesting here, years ago when I first started posting on the old blue board FAL Files, rob was taken so I went with rob1. Yeah, I know, no imagination here....
archy
12-04-2006, 09:21 PM
archy was a newspaper creation of newspaperman and poet Donald Robert Perry Marquis, subject also of a couple of books, and the animated cartoon *Shinbone Alley.*
Don Marquis passed away in 1937, long before I attended journalism school on the GI bill, then spent most of 35 years in the newsrag biz. I sort of wish our timelines had overlapped enough to have alklowed a face-to-face meeting.
His friend and creation archy was a cockroach who'd jump on the typewriter keys when Don was out of the office. Accordingly, I guess you could say he was the first blogger, or at least one of the first.

nightfighter4d
12-21-2006, 07:38 PM
Actually said nightfighter4delta. Pretty simple really Nightfighter4d was my first call sign in the Army.
Stands for nightfighter the scout platoon call sign. Kind of nice ring for a group of guys who does most of its work at night. 4 being the Platoon Sergeants call sign number, 1 being the LT. The delta cause I was his driver. If I was his gunner I would have been Golf instead.:D
Was also my first internet address.
Hey golden spur who did you serve with? I'm working on my second set as we speak. First set came with a Purple Heart.

GOVT1911 pretty much speaks for itself......Best Damn Handgun design EVER IMHO. ;)
Nightfighter, you over on the east side of the river? Cuervo? I spent a year in Western B'dad in Al Gazaliah, Al Shoulla and Abu Ghraib neigoborhoods. That sucked. I'm up in Tikrit now, a bit quieter but still not boring. LOL
nightfighter4d
12-22-2006, 05:03 PM
Yes sir it is the Ol' cuervo they call it Rustamiyah, or "Rusty". I was at Falcon last trip here. Wish to hell the Army would send me someplace less "Sporty" shit last time was way too "sporty" too.
GROG-- My caveman name given to me by my co-workers, as I grunt now and again, carry a large club, and ain't afraid to hit people with it... :D
GOVT1911
12-23-2006, 12:26 PM
Hey nightfighter, I was at Falcon 04-05 and worked with the Cav! maybe we ate some of the same dust! I was in 127th MP CO, we stayed over across from the "softball field" right next to where they built the new DFAC in early '05.
Hey, take it easy over in your direction, those damn EFPs ain't no friggin joke. We don't have it too bad up north here in Tikrit, the assclowns haven't gotten very good with shaped charges yet. But they are hell with grenades, they've gotten pretty good at getting them into the gunner's turrets.....BAD juju, that.
Stay safe brother
