So does anyone have Gore Tex boots and how do you like them. I had 1 pair years ago and my feel were alway wet from sweat in them. Are the newer ones better?

Gee, something was wrong if your feet were getting wet.
I worked in the arctic for a couple of years and wore gortex boots and gloves most of the time. I only went to the Lacrosse boots when it dipped below -25 and I was going to be out in the weather an extended time.
The goretex for me was comfortable and my feet stayed dry. I do think wearing the right socks is a must.

I have several pair of Gortex boots, both issued and individually purchased.
My feet get wet in them because my feet sweat ALOT. One thing that helps alot in my case is to spray my feet with anti-persperant like Right Guard. It keeps my feet from sweating so much and really helps in keeping them dry/warm.

BTW, when buying boots, you really do get what you pay for. Danners are tops in my book, Rockies are ok and Matterhorns are pretty good.
All of my observations are coming from Military type boots used on several deployments to several different climates so I'm sure there are many other types opinions out there on other types of boots.

Thanks for reminding me of the rightguard trick. I had forgotten that one. Good to hear that I'm not the only one whose had mixed results with Gore Tex footwear.

we did the national bob campout last year , it poured down rain for three days and my feet stayed dry the whole time, guys that had regular boots had wet feet..
if your feet sweat a lot , try a pair of poly pro liner sockers or white nylon dress socks under your normal socks . gets the persipartion away from your feet .
