Solar battery charger

Has anyone tried one of the solar powered AA battery chargers? I like the idea of it but don't know much about it in real world use.:confused:

That depends on which one you get, and the size of the batteries that you are trying to charge. Most of the ones that I have seen, at least the cheaper ones, wont put up a full charge with 4 2300AH AA battereries. The are pretty good last ditch, but a larger flex panel with a charge controller would do better.

I've seen a few of them as I searched the web. I saw one that said it would recharge 4 AA batteries (didn't say how may MAH) in 8 hours. Probably in the bright southwest sun but I suspect not here in Michigan gloom. I like th idea of it though.
