CMP To Get M-1 Carbines From US Army

Update. It seems that these carbines are returns from other Nations NOT from US Army stocks.

Maybe they came from France-carried a lot and dropped once!:p I don't see me affording one anytime soon but it would be nice to get one that was in decent shape.

I never understood why the M1 carbine was such a hot collector item. I mean over the years they were far from scarce. The prices as of late, even on the less desirable ones is just crazy IMHO.

I had a couple on an off over the years. Nice little guns but I always found that I didn't use them much. Good little house guns I guess. But I never took any of them out much. Shot a few woodchucks with one but thats about it. Just not all that keen on the caliber. Not enough pep. Now if they were selling them for under $100.00. then I would buy one just to have it. But at $500.00 I would rather have another Garand or a Mauser. Something with a bit more power and that I could use to hunt with.

But if you never had one and always wanted one. Here is a good chance to get it.
