In the event of dire circumstances this information may be a life saver. This is do or die situation information or as it is known in the military "Midnight Procurement".

Below is a list of Wholesaler/Distributors which supply the Grocery chain stores. Knowing these locations in your area may mean the difference between long term survival and death.

May I suggest also taking note of restaurant supply centers in one's area such as Smart & Final and Cash & Carry Smart Foodservice http://www.smartfoodservice.com/ .

Here is a list of Wholsale Distributors : http://www.goldmood.com/foodwholesal...#smartfinalinc

This link will allow you to locate Sysco distribution facilities.

around about every major town/city there are drop lots for trailers - usually in or around truck stops or industrial areas. of course my luck i'd get a trailer load of vacum cleaners.

Haha I agree Kah63 yet still, I'm going throw something out there for ya to know. If you go raiding trucking terminals, take this into consideration, you proabably will run into those who live around that area and in my city, those aren't the kind of people you want to run into in front of a police station at high noon (as opposed to meeting them in a dark alley). Also, refer containers have desiel fuel in their gensets... that's what keeps the motors running... that's all I'm saying about that. Also, they all have digital temp display on the nose where the actual refer unit is. Might want to check that out before busting open the doors and stealing bad food...

Just a thought...

The practicality of raiding such facilities would be ZERO. In a Major disaster they would be well guarded by Local Police and Military units. Of course SwampFox320 has a valid point as well that must be considered.

I addressed this possibility because it has been mentioned elsewhere.

Well, ports, yes, I wouldn't go anywhere near them, however the trucking terminals themselves (owned by trucking terminals) would be of very little concern by authorities. I know this because of the last hurricane that came through here, the trucking yards to raped cause no one was there to protect them.

Anyway...three things to say:

First, it has to be said that it is against the law to steal...please do not plan it.

Second, it is also a good thing to know, as was said ealrier, that the food will probably be bad anyway.

Third, I think during Katrina some company told the public they could have the food in their grocery stores if they got it right away. They told everyone the refrigeration was down and not to take bad meat. But I remember the company said go get canned goods and cereal and so forth.

The message went out over the radio.

Weird, never heard that. I'm not pro-stealing, I just wanted you guys to know what you'd be heading into if you were to do such things. I wouldn't worry about the police at all. It's the neighborhoods you'd be dealing with. There would be a 98% chance of a fire fight and if you're not looking for one (which I'm not) it'd be best to head for the hills... or swamp... or forest... or shady trees... you get the idea.

One of the reasons I prepare is so that I will be able to take care of my family without becoming a thief.

This subject is pertanent if for no other reason than not a few Americans have it in the back of their minds as a contingency.

I see NO practicality for thinking that this is an option.
