I have the "deluxe" model; leather washer handle with D guard. The axe does quite a job on small limbs and vines. The company, Pro Tool Industries, stands behind their products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I have a couple of issues with the tool, as shipped:
1. The main edge could be sharper. The edge is sharp; think lawn mower blade sharp. I prefer "shaving sharp"; think really SHARP. The company is probably trying to stradle the liability and blade life line.
2. The Cordura sheath is flimsy and the velcro opening makes it difficult to draw from. I gave one one these models as a gift and spent the extra money on a "deluxe" leather sheath. It is definately easier to draw from. If you intend to use the tool as a combination camp axe and fighting blade, consider the leather sheath.
