Mine is a .177 cal. singleshot, made in China. I looks like an SKS trainer or something as the stock and sights are almost identical. It cocks with a lever under the barrel. I gave $25 for it, used. It is a certified squirrel destroyer, so I guess it is worth having in the survival arsenal. What say ya'll?

I’ve probably got the very same Chinese airgun, which I purchased about 20 years ago. It was pretty cool when it was new, but with age, the internal plastic parts have all gone brittle and become cracked. So, it only shoots a .177 pellet about ten feet nowadays. I thought about getting it fixed, but repairs would probably cost more than the rifle’s worth . . .

Still, I can't argue the utility of an airgun in a survival situation. I recall the late Mel Tappan was a big booster of the type - though he favored the elite European models that retail for upwards of $400 these days. A bit rich for my blood, I'm afraid!

I had a Sheridan .20 Blue Streak. A friend's kid took it and broke it. Now he owns it :) . I'd buy another one though. It was a good and inexpensive pellet gun.

Crosman repeater in .177. I forgot the model number. 1100 comes to mind, but I could very well be wrong. It's plenty accurate and powerful, although I wish it was a little heavier so it would be easier to hold it on target.

Feinwerkbau FWB 124 .177 that I won at a shooting match. Incredibly accurate for a 30yr old pellet rifle.

I have prolly the same .177 cal., one-pump, under the barrel cocking, Chinese made pellet gun as a couple of ya'll. $20 at a tool show earlier this year. Killed many chipmunks this summer. I also have a Crosman 760 in .177, like the one I had as a kid, except this one is PC. They make you load the pellets in with a clip. When I was a kid, I could load mine up through the slot, with a pellet in front of a BB. No more... :(

The Jan. '07 Shotgun News has an interesting article on airguns for hunting.

I have a Daisy Powerline 990... This little zinger will run on CO2 cartridges or, by flipping a switch, can be pumped with the forearm...

When using the CO2 it will fire BBs repeatedly by operating the bolt, OR pellets can be loaded one at a time. If the gas runs out, simply push the selector to pump and the forearm can be operated like a "traditional" pump air rifle...

It is an incredibly accurate little gun for "around the house plinking"...

my air gun is 5.56 caliber, and uses self contined gas generation cartridges, that are housed in a spring fed pelet feeding mechanism. I also have about 75 of these (PFD)'s (pellet feeding device). It is semi auto, and looks exactly like a Bushmaster XM-15E2S w/ a 16" heavy fluted barrel, 4 position stock, with an A2 type carry handle site group. Best damn air gun ever!
