I have a Kershaw with an interchangable blade... the second blade is a wood saw (which if sterilized could function as an amputating saw). I've only tried out the saw blade on wood at this point...

boonie knife is a Chris Reeve Mark V. 5.5" plain blade. Got all usual the stuff in the handle. I picked it up used (in new condition) for a very nice price a year or 2 ago.
I alternate between a Benchmade Pardue 3550 auto and a Gerber Applegate folder for daily carry

Thats one perty knife. I don't think I'd be able to use it. What's that a $700 piece of art. I'll have to stick with either my SOG seal knife or BECKER tac tool.

No, mine was under $400. I don't have the fancy $700 one.

BOB has a Cold Steel SRK, EDC is Benchmade Stryker and Gerber multitool. Each of my vehicles has a surplus Kabar in the toolkit and a CRKT M16Z in the glovebox.
I love the SRK and have carried it on my webgear on multiple deployments. Strong, thick blade that has the weight to chop stuff but still isn't too long to be ungainly. Comfortable handle and holds an edge well. Carbon steel, so ya gotta take care of it, but GREAT knife for the price, IMHO. I have 3 that I bought from their "seconds" catalog and still can't find out why they didn't pass muster for "firsts" except one has a scratch in the blade which is cosmetic only.

Here is my next project, a $35.00 Boker knife blank. I'm thinking of removing some metal to make the guard more pronounced and going with Dymondwood handle scales. Thinking either leather or kydex sheath with a stone and magnesium fire starter pocket.

Heavier than hell, nearly 1/8 inch thick spine. wore out the original sheath years ago had a new one crafted localy. has been with me to the BWWA a couple times. Sent it back to Western (Camillus) two years ago for new scales and guard. Cant belive they honored the warranty for a pre buy out knife

a marine issue ka-bar good carbon steel ..a blackjack made applegate fairburn knife.. a buck 110 ..a s&w auto knife ..leathermen wave. a shephfield craftsmen utilaty blade folder ..small buck lite ..now one of the best knives i v ever had was when federal ammo sold a box of 400 rds of 22 ammo and a small gerber folder came with it i lost thou..heres a tip dont ever leave a knife in strait bleach over nite it will destory your blade big time ..now i like to get a cold steal in carbon v ..carbon steal knives are a lot easyer to sharpen ..some stainless steal knives are a pain to resharpen even with dimond stones ..so thats something to think about

Cold Steel Trailmaster.
I also carry a 4" fixed blade knife <forgot the make> long and thin for game cuts, a pocket knife <high qualitity forgot the maker>, and a Gerber tool.
An Estwing camp ax.
An issue machete.
last but not least a camp saw with wood and bone blades.
Overkill ? Maybe but then again, if I need to cut something (which it always seems I wind up having to do) I can do it fairly efficiently.

I believe my next knife will be the Becker BK-7 for LBE and I'm going to put the Becker Necker in each POV, I have a pretty good kit in them already, but they need a better knife.
I am a fan of Robert from Survival Sheath, I'm going to have him make me a Kydex Sheath for the BK-7, so I can attach it better, something about canvas sheaths...
I have a Gerber LMF non-sawback in good condition that I am now considering putting on E-bay if anyone is looking for one. It has been carried in five countries for over 13 years and still looks good. I used it sparingly, however the sheath took a beating, sometimes. My wife wants to know how you can outgrow a knife... I asked her if she was sitting on the same couch we got when we were first married... what about her car from college? She finally understands what it must have taken hours to explain years ago...

Hi Everyone,
New to the forum.
Interesting thread. I have owned and tested a bunch over the years, but still prefer the Cold Steel Trailmaster as my choice for the best all around survival knife.
Has anyone heard if anyone is going to resurect BK&T now that Camillus is Tango Uniform?

Hi Mike ! You talked me into catching up over here.
Just purchased a BK-7 recently. Camillus, of course. Heard Becker still owns the design and manufacturing rights and will be having it produced. No word on who yet. Also picked up a Camillus Heat folder. Very quick to open and seems to be good quality. Made in Taiwan, however
