I have (1) size X-large, and (1) size Large SAPI plates for sale.
These are in like new condition, and show NO DAMAGE.
Pairs perfectly with the "Interceptor" type carrier and are rated Type IIIA. These are the "curved" type for better fit/coverage.
I Gathered the following from their webpage.
These offer 7.62/M80 Ball protection, and include:
7.62 × 54mm lead core ball ammunition, Dragunov Sniper Rifle at 50 meters
7.62 × 54mm AP, Dragunov Sniper Rifle at 50 meters
7.62 × 51mm NATO ball ammunition at 10 meters
7.62 × 51mm AP M-61 at 10 meters
7.62 × 39mm mild steel core, AK-47 at 10 meters
7.62 × 63mm AP at 10 meters
5.56 × 45mm SS109/M855 at 10 meters
5.56 × 45mm M193 ball at 10 meters
5.45 × 39mm Russian ball at 10 meters
12 gauge slug at 10 meters
These sell new for $640 a pair.
Your price is $400 or trade.

Are these stand alone level IV plates?

I suppose you could use them stand alone. I think they should be used w/a carrier though.

I understand they need to be put in a carrier. do they rely on a ballistic vest to achieve level IV or are they stand alone level IV? Thanks.

Yes, I don't see how you would attach these unless in a carrier. And yes, to reach full protection, you need "soft" armor.
