I don't have what I want yet. Since I plan on bugging in my BOB would double as my Get Me Home Bag(I live 50 miles from where I will be working). I would like to have a good light tarp kinda tent. No floor, no bug screening, just shelter from rain/snow/wind. One that has an open front that I can build a fire in front to get heat when necessary. In your area that might not work with all the bugs and creepy crawlies, for someone who has used a bivvy sack most of his life it would be nice.

Haha, yeah, I'd need something to close up if I were to get a tent. I've been doing Rev War reenacting for a while and have slept in tents made exactly like the tents of that period and they work very well for keeping bugs out around here, except for the crawlers... damn them... haha.

I live in Texas and need something to keep the bugs and other nasties out.

Been looking at one of these tents... http://www.ray-way.com/tarp-nettent/index.shtml

A one person tent complete weighs less than 1.5lbs! They have one thats fairly subdued that should work well.

I have an REI Half Dome that I use for backpacking. I love it, but I've been thinking about putting some mesh around the bottom of the fly and use only the fly and footprint. 5 lbs. is a little heavy, especially when some of the wight can be pared down or something carried in its place.

I have a Whelen Lean-To that I use in the bug free season. It's awesome and the front is open so you can make a (small) fire or cook in front of it.
