Everyone just got into work from the weekend and is running searches, hitting the site at the same time, etc...

It bogs the server down and the software is set to disallow searches at a certain point and beyond that to just tell you the server is too busy if the load gets too high.

Getting the same here, I bet everyone is learning to reload since SA is running out.

Well, that makes sense.

The ammo crisis might play a part too.

Been malfunctioning since about eight this morning E.S.T. Got in once but couldn't get into the forums. When I did get to the forums I couldn't get to a thread.

Maybe DABTL and LTBAD are really going at it in the politics forum slowing everything down the day before election day!

I have temporarily shut down the FAL Files until we can figure out what is causing the unusually high server loads.

It appears to be one or more people running intensive searches for the same terms on the server repeatedly.

Root them out and crush them like bugs! I don't know how to act without my daily dose of the Files...

The current message says other gun sites are having the problem also, maybe I wasn't that far off.

GUnbroker's forums were taken out by a hacker last weekend.

I got on the files long enough to post a for sale ad, but couldn't ever get back to it.

Some newbie is getting all pissed because he offered you double what you were asking and you still just ignore him!

OOps! Meant to edit my post. Well....

Jen sez in the server down note::
"I have received news that several other firearms related websites / forums are either down or also experiencing problems."

H-m-m-m?
Multiple denial of service attacks on gunboards? Day before voting day? Dauy after Saddam's verdict?

A strange co-inky-dink or is the S really gonna hit the F?

I may have to pull my tinfoil hat out of the closet. Haven't had to wear that since Y2K :D

I can't get to thehighroad.org either - very suspicious and perhaps it is a DDoS attack against gun-related sites. Ugh

I agree. It is pretty odd that all of these sights were or are currently down.

highroad.org is up and no complaints there - perhaps just a PC-glitch my side.
