Having watched the senator's serious efforts to self destruct over the last three days, I received an e-mail from John Dean this morning telling me what bad things would happen if we didn't vote all the Dems into office. I'm a registered Democrat, simply because the local elections here are all decided in the Democratic primary. I e-mailed Gov. Dean the following reply to his email:

Dear Gov. Dean:
I'm so glad for your e-mail since I now know how to contact you. My father was a professional Naval officer. I spent many years in the service (and was recalled to active duty in the Gulf War in 1990). I have two sons who served in the military (one has a PhD, the other is still on active duty and has orders for Iraq). I also have a son-in-law on active duty.
While I'm a registered Democrat, Sen. Kerry's remarks were an insult to my father, my sons, my son-in-law, and myself. I didn't feel he could do any worse, but he did... he posted an "apology" at the bottom of his web site apologizing to us that we're all so stupid that we "misunderstood" his remarks. Since all of us loosers in our family who served or are still serving in the military have college degrees (although not from Yale), I guess we should go back to remedial English until we can understand what the Democratic Presidential Candidate of 2004 really said (although it sure made sense to me when I heard him say it on television!).
When Sen. Kerry releases his own service records and has the common courtesy to get on the major media and apologize for what he said, rather than blaming the world for not understanding him, I may vote for another Democratic candidate in my lifetime. Until then, on Tuesday I'm voting a straight party ticket... and it isn't for the Democrats!
