Took my 91/30 out today, fed easy but after that it was a bear to get the bolt to cycle. I believe I was firing brass cased Romanian yellow nose. Anyone have any clues for me?

I have the same problem. I am going to polish up my bolt and see if that helps. The machining on the bolt very ruff. Other than that I have no clue what could be wrong.

My Mosins benefit from a good chamber cleaning.
Most surplus ammo has a polymer or laquer finish on the case and upon firing leaves some residue.
I clean mine using a 20 gauge bronze brush on a short piece of cleaning rod chucked in a drill. Spray the brush and chamber with solvent or carburator cleaner and slowly have at the chamber from the receiver end. Be careful that your solvent doesn't get on the stock finish and have the muzzle lower than the receiver so gunk flows out the end rather than in the reciever area. Take a look before so you can compare after results. The chamber should be clean and bright when you finish. Wipe clean and follow up with a light coat of good gun oil. I use BreakFree. Do not leave a lot of oil in the chamber when you are finished, just enough to protect the metal.
