6 weeks ago I bought a Glock 19 pistol with night sights. I took it home and that evening noticed that the front night sight was dead. I returned the unfired pistol to the gunshop the next day. The shop offered to swap it out for a different pistol. The 2 other pistols they had were equiped with dead sights too. The shop took my pistol in to be sent back for repairs.
I waited 3 weeks and inquired as to the status of my pistol. I was told that They were waiting on sights from Glock and that Glock told them that Glock didn't want the pistols sent back for repair - they'd send sights to the shop & have the shop arrange fixing them.
Now it's 6 weeks into this thing and I still have no pistol. I called Glock - (as they have no email??) and told my story to 4 different people before talking to "Fred" in their repair dept. Fred told me he'd send me a sight and I could have it installed and then send them the old sight back(at my expense). I asked him for a couple of extra magazines and maybe a t-shirt for my trouble and for having my $650 for purchasing the pistol tied up for 6 weeks without having ever used the pistol or a repair date.
Fred laughed - yes he laughed and said "I'm not going to send you $50 worth of magazines and even I can't get a Glock t-shirt so the answer to that is NO" I reiterated that I had $650 tied up and no pistol and that I was going to facilitate the repair. He told me he'd give me 1 magazine and I was lucky to get that. I replied if I was lucky I have a Glock that was factory-perfect and in my posession not the gunshop's safe for 6 weeks waiting on parts and I am going to pay for return shipping of the sight!. He replied "take it or leave it"
I kept my voice level and civil while we talked.
Having purchased a dud is one thing but being laughed and talked rudely at is the icing on the cake.
I called back 2 times and talked with 7 more people who couldn't / wouldn't help. I left 2 voice mails over 2 days whith customer service which weren't returned.
Glock was famous for great customer service but apparently that has changed. At this point I just want my money / credit from the shop to buy a S&W M&P pistol.
I'm really dissappointed in Glock. I most likely will not purchase another one ever
